The Communication Systems Group (CSG) conducts research in the areas of:

• Wireless ad hoc and delay/disruption tolerant networking,
• Future Internet architecture and protocols, and
• Network traffic analysis with applications to security and traffic engineering
  

We are permanently looking for outstanding candidates to join our team to carry out applied as well as theoretical research projects. The CSG offers an inspiring work environment, the possibility to initiate new and innovative research projects, as well as a very competitive salary.

We currently have one open Senior Researcher position in the area of Networked Systems.

Senior Researcher position in Networked Systems

The focus of this position is on systems research and design for the Future Internet, including work on related network architectures and their integration in existing large-scale testbed infrastructures.

The candidate should have experience in designing and developing advanced communication systems and should have a strong background in one or more of the fields: design and evaluation of distributed, operating and communication systems, Internet protocols, and testbed experimentation. Our ongoing research in this area is carried out in the context of two R&D projects funded by the European Commission, the activities of which the successful candidate is expected to lead:

• Autonomic Network Architectures (ANA)
  In the ANA project, we design and develop a novel autonomic network architecture for the Future Internet that enables flexible, dynamic, and fully autonomous formation of network nodes.

• OneLab2
  The OneLab2 project provides an open federated experimental platform, built on PlanetLab Europe, that will support network research for Future Internet architectures and protocols. Our group's main responsibility in the project is to provide a framework that allows to interconnect Future Network Technologies within the existing OneLab2 testbed infrastructure.
