Short Bio

I was born in Athens in 1976. I received my undergraduate diploma from the National Technical University of Athens in Electrical & Computer Engineering in 2000 with a major in Telecommunications and Networking. I then moved to Los Angeles, where I received a Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern California, with advisors Professor Cauligi S. Raghavendra and Professor Konstantinos Psounis. In 2006, I worked as a post-doctoral researcher at INRIA, Sophia-Antipolis in France, as a member of the Planete project-team.

As of October 2007, I am a Senior Researcher in the Communication and Systems Group at ETH, Zurich.

Research Interests

• Analytical Tools for Networks: applied probability theory, random walks on graphs, game theory, complex networks, convex optimization and cross-layer design, percolation theory.

• Delay Tolerant Networks: routing, analytical modeling and performance evaluation, optimal resource allocation, feasibility and incentives issues

• Vehicular Networks: geographic/navigation-based routing, adaptive channel access, dynamic traffic management, context awareness

• Mobility Modeling: trace analysis, analytically tractable synthetic models, social networks.

• Wireless Networking using Smart Antennas: lightweight beamforming, cross-layer designs, scheduling, capacity issues.

• Future Internet Architectures: clean-slate approaches, integration of wireless technologies (DTNs, sensor nets, etc.) and mobility into the Internet.
